Good verbal communication skills are a by-product of the interactive nature of the Liberal Arts curriculum. Hence students at SSLA are adept at presenting complicated ideas and concepts to an audience effortlessly. Like Albert Einstein once said, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” Verbal presentations provide an excellent tool for one to share the knowledge one has gained and crystallize it in the process. Hence, class presentations are an integral part of the assessment for most of the courses at SSLA.
The Best Presentation award is given out by SSLA to the student who has given the best classroom presentation in the whole academic year. This award for the academic year 2013-2014 was won jointly by Ira Chakraborty and Aditi Athreya for their team presentation in the International Relations course titled ‘Understanding Rational Deterrence Theory through Sino-American Relations’.
