Application Process

The application process for admission to SSLA spans out in two steps.

SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test)

All candidates* will have to register for the General Paper of the SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test).

How to register:

  • Go to www.set-test.org to register for the examination
  • After successfully creating your username and password, you will have to fill in your personal information in the web portal
  • Choose SET General paper in order to be eligible for application to SSLA
  • You may now complete your registration by making a payment of Rs 1750/- towards the SET fee and Rs 1000/- towards the SSLA registration fee. Payment can be made either online or offline.
  • Admit cards can be downloaded from this portal on 21 April 2018

PI-WAT (Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test)

Once the SET results are declared, SSLA will declare its shortlist of candidates eligible for the second step - PI WAT. The shortlist is dependent only on the SET and the cutoff varies year to year. The PI-WAT (Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test) will be conducted at SSLA, Pune.

The Personal Interaction will be followed by a Writing Ability Test, which is a short subjective-answer based test.

Based on the combined scores of SET and PI-WAT, the Merit Lists will be published.

Please note

There will be no separate process for IB students this year. All candidates will have to attempt the SET examination conducted in the first week of May.

Application Process for International Students

Foreign Nationals (FN), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) & Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) must apply through the Symbiosis Center for International Education (SCIE)

  • Go to www.scie.ac.in
  • Click on the 'Undergraduate Admissions Procedure' tab under the 'Admissions' tab for complete details

Eligibility

  • All students seeking admission to SSLA should write SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test)
  • CBSE, ICSE, HSC: Students should have passed with at least 50% (Open Category) and 45% (SC, ST) in the 12th Standard
  • IB Diploma: student must complete examinations in six subject areas (3 at HL and 3 at SL) and successfully complete the core requirements (EE, CAS, TOK). Successful IB diploma candidates receive an IB Diploma and the transcript with Diploma Results stating “Diploma Awarded”
  • IB Certificate: student must have a minimum of 24 credits and has passed a minimum of three subjects at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL)
  • GCE/IGCSE/GCSE: student must have a minimum of 5/4 subjects in A, B, C Grades including English at ORDINARY(“O”) Level and 2/3 subjects at ADVANCED (“A”)LEVEL

Admissions Will Be Cancelled In Case of

  • Non submission of the required documents on time.
  • Submission of fake or incorrect or incomplete documents.
  • Admission gained through unfair and objectionable practices detected at any stage during the 4 years.
  • Failing to fulfill required eligibility criteria of the program.

General Rules

  • Every student of this program shall abide by the rules of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
  • Fees are subject to a normal increase of 10% - 15% annually owing to academic & infrastructural advances.
  • Admissions are subject to eligibility clearance from SI(DU)
  • Admission will be confirmed only after payment of the prescribed fees. For the subsequent year, students are required to register again by paying the prescribed fees for that year. In case of failure to pay the prescribed fees before the stipulated date, a late fee of Rs.100/- per week will be charged

Payment of Fees

  • Students are required to pay full annual fees towards the program at the time of admission.
  • Program fees may be paid by demand draft in favor of ‘Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts’ payable at Pune or at any branch of the Bank of India.
  • After paying the fees and securing the admission, if the student does not report to the SSLA office on the date of commencement of the program, his/her admission is liable to be cancelled and the fees will be refunded as per the refund rules of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
  • Hostel and Mess fees will be charged separately.
