Jashn-e-Qalam

2018-08-18

Jashn-E-Qalam Storytelling is a collective of professional Stage & Screen Actors, who celebrate the beauty & brilliance of Hindustani Literature with Solo Performances of Short Stories. This form of story-telling is devoid of any sets, props or costumes and revolves solely around the artist and the story. The event was hosted by Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts on the 18th of August in the Multipurpose Hall. The artists Shashwita Sharma and Vicky Ahuja performed the evergreen stories Checkak Ke Daag and Inspector Matadin Chand Par.

Both the artists are professional actors and are known for their ability of  powerful dialogue delivery. They impressed the audience with their performance and left them wanting for more. After each story, there was an interaction between the artist and the audience about not only the story but also the medium through which it was conveyed and the lesson one could take away from it.

The experience was nothing short of magic and the audience commented on how they were so involved in the performance and the story that the world around them vanished.

The session ended on a high note by some intellectual insights by KC Shankar, about the art of listening and being present in the moment that one is in.
